Sree Mahaganapathy Temple

Avanavancherry Grama Samooham

The Avanavancherry Grama Samooham is the heart of the local community. It is a centuries-old social group of Tamil Brahmins who have preserved their culture and traditions in Avanavancherry for more than five generations.

Brahmin Settlements

The settlements are historically spread across three main streets:

  • Avanavancherry Gramam (Double Street)
  • Palla Theruvu
  • Gramathin Mukku

Their forefathers established Bylaw norms and standards for the upliftment of the community, ensuring that the traditions and the presiding deities of the Gramam are honored and protected.

The Samooham is responsible for daily poojas and conducts various religious and community activities throughout the year to foster spiritual growth and community bonding.
